Carl Friedrik is a luxury travel brand with a strong focus on product design, challenging the traditional travel goods industry with well-considered premium leather bags, accessories and wheeled luggage.
This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of the growing company, contributing to the product design and development team, and helping expand Carl Friedrik's travel and lifestyle product categories.
About the role
The Junior Designer for Luggage and Accessories will have the responsibility of providing support to the design team across soft bags, luggage and accessories. This role demands a clear understanding of colour, materials and experience in designing soft goods for manufacturing. Additionally, the role will require close collaboration with the Senior Soft Bag and Accessories Designer, as well as the Head of Design, on all projects.
The candidate for this role should also possess a strong command of digital tools, such as Clo3D, to facilitate the sharing of digital designs with the team and factories.
Job requirements
Your responsibilities
Propose new concepts, ideas and directions
Propose and discuss new ideas and solutions through sketching, pattern and 3D softwares
Creating detailed technical specifications for factories
Identify and suggest improvements to the current products
Producing 3D designs using Clo3D or similar sot modelling softwares
Develop products and collections aligned with the broader brand and product vision
Work closely with our global factories throughout sampling and production
Manage the storage of files across different server platforms
Your profile
Relevant degree-level or equivalent qualifications in bags/accessories fashion design, product design.
2+ years of industry experience in bags and luggage design.
A good understanding of pattern making and soft construction
Enthusiastic about the creation of new products.
Strong presentation skills
Strong technical understanding of materials and fabrication techniques used within consumer and industrial product manufacturing
Commercially aware of brands in the sector.
Detail and results-oriented.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Thorough knowledge of creating and maintaining technical specifications
Software: solid proficiency in Adobe creative suite
Detailed experience using Clo3D or similar softwares
